Sarah's expertise in senior leadership roles spans across Local Government, the NHS, and governmental bodies, where she has demonstrated a consistent ability to manage strategic initiatives in population health, policy innovation, and change programmes.
Her credentials as an accredited coach are complemented by her extensive practice in guiding executive leaders across various public sector entities and small enterprises. Additionally, Sarah is adept at facilitating, having conducted numerous leadership development initiatives within local government frameworks and through her bespoke group coaching sessions.
Sarah’s coaching style is creative, person-centered, and outcomes-driven, leveraging the strengths, resources, and passions of each individual. Influenced by her background as a therapist, her coaching approach is purposeful and non-directive, based on the belief that individuals have the answers to their own situations, and her role is to help them unlock these answers.
Sarah works effectively with a diverse range of clients in the public sector, small businesses, and charity sector. As a coach, rather than a mentor, she successfully operates outside her specific professional knowledge by empowering individuals to resolve their issues through various techniques, including creative methods and tailored questioning.
Originally trained to apply a coaching approach in her public sector career, Sarah also served as a mentor within internal NHS and local government schemes. She trained for three years to practice as a therapist before qualifying as a coach in 2019. Since then, she has coached senior leaders within the NHS, local government, charity sector, and small businesses. She also works with neurodivergent adults in the public sector through an access-to-work scheme and mentors new coaches in developing their businesses.
Sarah has facilitated group coaching, particularly within local government, to support midlife women in teams. She is a leader in her local International Coaching Federation (ICF) group and has provided training on using creativity in coaching, street wisdom, and action learning as coaching tools.
With a background in senior leadership roles within the NHS, local government, and government, Sarah has been running her consultancy since 2014, delivering projects including program management, strategic reviews, performance management, and policy development. She works as an associate for organizations providing coaching and leadership development for public sector leaders, including facilitating workshops for senior leaders in a twelve-month leadership development program for a large local authority.
Sarah trained with Barefoot Coaching Ltd in 2019 and has been credentialed by the ICF as an Associate Certified Coach in 2020 and a Professional Certified Coach in 2023. She has also trained in team coaching, group coaching, and delivering DISC and EQi.2.0 assessments. Currently, she is completing her training as a mentor coach, working with other coaches to enhance their practice.
Committed to professional development, Sarah has engaged in professional supervision since 2019, both in groups and one-on-one. Her recent supervisors include Carolyn McDonald PCC and Kate Hammer, MBACP, GMBPsS, both of whom are dual-trained in therapy and counseling.
